Is there a way to enable surround speakers for my SB live card? Ive got a 5.1 setup, and I want to use pro logic for Doom 3, but I dont know how to get the surround speakers up. Im using a basic RCA cord to connect to the receiver.

wouldn't be able to have 5.1 with RCA's ....you'd have to use an optical/SPDIF connection

but... Pro Logic is based on RCA. Which I think is the father it goes left, the farther it goes to the rear of that side.

My understanding of this is fairly limited, but how exactly are your speakers connected? If you are using SPDIF, you can set the card to just pass the digital signal on through to the amp. I don't believe you will get 5.1 in anything except DVDs this way (and only if they already have digital 5.1), you'd need an X-Mystique or another card that can encode DD.

If you had an X-Fi you could use it's Virtual 3D...But otherwise you will not get any 3D sound going through RCA cables. You would have to use either a digital/optical connection, or have the hookups for each channel on your reciever then run a cable from each channel of the sound card to each of the reciever.
But my guess is that you're SOL unless you can do SPDIF
You want to play a computer game with surround sound then get surround computer speakers.

like mentioned, real surround in games over spdif is only possible with cards like the x mystique. if your reciever has it, i would reccomend using the 6 inputs, just get 2 more of the 1/8 to rca cables like you have.

Right, you can't get true 5.1 in games over a digital connection, you have to use analog. And it would be 3 wires, not six. Your reciever has to have multi chanel input though, so one for front, one for rear, and ond for sub/center.
I'm not sure though, but does doom support 5.1?
