Well, today I just got my Rear window defogger. I am going to use clear nail polish to to fill the gaps, but I have no idea what to do with this defogger thing. What I got was a clear vile half full with this blue liquid. I also got this other small plastic thing filled with tan-brown goop. What do I use? Thanks for helping me not mess this up.

Tomshardware has a step-by-step for unlocking the XP. Here is the link, hope it helps:

Thanks for the reply, but I need help with using a defogger kit, not silver grease.
Anyone?

I used a different type of epoxy, but its all the same idea: check the instructions for your kit for percentages to mix, etc and cure time!

There are a few good articles on how to mask the bridges, I'll look in a minute, but basically you need to mask the bridges so that NONE of the defogger epoxy can go anywhere you don't want it!

I did my bridges 1 at a time, and let each one cure before doing the next. It took a while, but I got all the multipilers available and working (crashes at the highest though!)

Too bad I ended up using just fsb for my oc!

Don't know if I would use the clear finger nail polish, the rear window defogger stuff might act like finger nail polish remover.

Gah, I'm all confused now. I don't know what to do. Any suggestions?

punt!

Nah- to tell the truth, I'd say to just work with the fsb a while, and research exactly which method of unlocking you want to use.

Good luck! ( and I'll answer any questions you have best I can, but I can't tell you which way is THE best:) , just the way I did it.)

Ok, well I'm going to try the clear nail polish and the defogger kit. Can anyone tell me how to use the defogger kit tho? I have one small vile half filled with blue liquid and another plastic packet of brownish goop stufff. How the heck do I use this to connect the bridges with? In all the reviews and how-to's it doesn't really describe that.

*edit* hmm I have pondered on it a bit more and have come to the conclusion that I should mix the two together. Should this be done in a plastic bowl or something?

Rye that's Permatex's version of a Defogger Kit. Not actually, actually it's used to GLUE the electric contact to the defogger stripes.

I personally wouldn't try and use it, but It's not my chip =)

But basically all you have to do is break the blue vile (for god's sake just squeeze the cardboard tube and don't let the glass go everywhere!)

After that just put the blue liquid on the traces you want to bridge(L1 duh)

ast you'll want to squish the little packet you got to make sure it's mixed. After that just sweeze it where you want it.
