Is there a difference between these two besides the multiplier? OCability, other issues?

The motherboards limit the OC's so 1 multi can be as much as 500mhz in chips this low. (The E6400 would more then likely not be limited by air cooliing on the best performing mobo)

Well we are soon going to find out. Hard to tell how the E6400 RETAlL clock because no one on the forums has one yet. The E6300 multi might limit OCing. But really C2D, anything above 2.6ghz is a powerhouse.

Like many folks I'm on a budget(student) and E6400 is the best I can do for now. The first RETAIL E6400 I find, I'm buying. She will be under water, so I will have some decent results to post here on the forums. If I can run 3.33GHZ stable with a decent voltage, I will be happy as hell.

Im starting to think putting a E6600 under a vapochill LS with my P5WDH board is going to be a waste, being limited by FSB.
Will find out monday when the E6600 arrives.

I opted for the E6300 after looking at the OC'ing article on anandtech. Basically with a mild overclock this chip destroys the FX62 and runs at E6800 speeds. That should run my games fine for a while and next year Kentsfield quad core comes out!

I used the money i saved over the more expensive chip to get a better video card.

My chip arrived today, but my mobo and RAM is still shipping. When i get those i'll post OC results.
