Im about to buy some WC stuff for my opty, 7900gt, dfi mobo rig. It gets really hot in socal and my my cpu/gpu/chipset gets really hot. So, Im going for some WC.

I dont want to make a custom loop, just saying.

Would this set be good for keeping everything cool/extending overclocks/ and being very quiet?

http://www.jab-tech.com/Swiftech-MCW60-VGA-cooler-pr-3252.html
and because im on a DFI mobo, its hard to WC the chipset
http://www.jab-tech.com/Evercool-VC-RE-Twinkling-VGA-Cooler-pr-2291.html(yes this works if you dont know)

So, will it be good for what I ask?

Thanks.

Also, someone over at hardforum said if I put my gfx in the lower slot, i could wc my chipset. The card blocks the chipset in the top slot.

I need to ask a question but i think i should first tell what I think would be a decent loop(correct please )

pump>res>cpu>gpu>(chipset if its there)>rad>pump

1) Would I be able to bend the tubing far enough so that it could reach all the way up to the chipset?

2) I have the 2 pci slots filled with a tv tuner and an xfi. Will there be enough space between my 7900gt and the xfi for me to watercool if i put it in the lower slot?

The tubing has to bend over the gfx and then perpendicular to the mobo to get to the barb. BTW, the gfx is in the top slot in that pic and theres no PCI cards

BTW heres the chipset block i would be getting http://www.jab-tech.com/Swiftech-MCW30-Chipset-cooler-pr-3251.html

Thanks again.

I don't know if that rad can handle all those componetnts. With that many components and with a kit I don't think your temps are gonna drop any if at all.

And unless your doing some insane overclocks you really dont have to wc the chipset. If you dont that then the rad can probably handle the hole system.

Of course you can wc the chipset if you want just my opinion.

well, i am doing a bit of overclocking. my opty 165 1.8 stock is running at 2.7 on stock vcore on air. I plan to overclock my 7900gt alittle more too.

i thought a 2x 120mm would be able to handle it...

Im just worried that I'll be hearing the chipset fan.

Also, my room gets freaking hot when my computer is on because i pretty much have it on 24/7. Is there a way that I can reduce this?

Im pretty sure that im just going to be wcing the gpu and cpu. Will that rad be able to handle it?

if your gonna cool gpu, cpu, and chipset I would say you shold stay away from a kit.

Take a look at the BIXII. It should be perfect for what you want to do.

If you looking for a kit, this one will offer everything that you need. http://www.jab-tech.com/Swiftech-Apex-Ultra-+-CPU-VGA-Chipset-watercooling-kit-pr-3440.html

Chipest doesn't dump that much of heat in to look to be concern with. So Dual fan radiator will be able to handle it. Swiftech radiators are pretty good.

the BIX series works good with high CFM fans (90+). If you want a quieter solution, go with a BIP, they work good with lower cfm fans (40-60cfm)

the kit with the MCW60 looks good, and so does the plans for the evercool VC-RE (but DO NOT bother with a water cooled chipset block... they're useless (IMO) and just makes tubing a real pain in the arse to route)

but loop order that you suggested: pump>res>cpu>gpu>(chipset if its there)>rad>pump

if you put the pump > res, the res eliminates any pressure in the system that the pump originally had, and will kill the flow in your system

the prime order of components is either

pump > rad > CPU > GPU > res > back to pump

or

rad > res > pump > CPU > GPU > back to rad

I just bought the swiftech 220 kit with mcw60 vga cooler and got it installed Friday. So far I've been very happy with it, my temps have dropped significantly. Be warned, these numbers are going to be slightly off as it was much hotter a week ago when I was air-cooled than it has been the last few days since I installed the swiftech kit, and I've oc'd it more. It'll be interesting to see what they are when the sun comes back to Seattle again.

Air Cooled (940 @ 4ghz)
Cpu 44 idle, ~58 load.
GPU 49 idle, 59 load (7900gt bfg)

Swiftech (940 @ 4.2ghz with 7900 oc'd ~100mhz on clock and memory... at work so not exact numbers on the 7900 oc I'll check tomorrow when I'm home)

Cpu 36 idle, 43 load
GPU 33 idle, 36 load (upped clock and memory by 100mhz each)

The pump is good, the cpu block is good, the only questionable part is the rad as I'm not sure how it compares to others you can buy seperately. I'm going to try adding some pull fans for a push/pull setup to see if I can lower my temps another degree or two while lowering noise as well, but overall I'm extremely happy with this kit.

Of all the kits I've seen reviewed and looked at, swiftech seems to be one of the better ones as far as quality of components goes. I had to use lots of boiling water to get the 7/16" tubing over the 1/2" barbs, but otherwise installation was relatively straightforward.

thats too expensive :(

I have a 20% off DD coupon...
im too much of a noob to configure my own custom system.

Can someone configure a system (http://www.dangerdenstore.com/product.php?productid=7) that will cool my sig.

I want a gpu and cpu block. Also, I want a res. Most importantly, I dont want to mod my case AT ALL and keep it <$375 without coupon. I just want to make sure everything is compatable and im not missing anything. A quick reply would be great. Im ordering tonight
