View Full Version : I need Assistance with SB Live card....
I need to find a diagram of the pinouts on the back edge of the card. I suspect the lower 10 pins are realted to either a built in USB or they could be used for front panel headphones and microphones. Anyone have any info please help.

I wanted to do that too. =[
Perhaps it might be an idea (And I may decide to work on this myself). What about listing a few(or more) of the mainstream sound cards and some of the header pinout information as a sticky? I cant belive I AM(EDIT: one of a few) the only one to want to know this information. IS there a thread about this??

I wanted to do the same thing with my SB Live 5.1.
I started using the onboard AC97 sound when I broke my shoulder because it was such a PitA to switch from speakers to headset, now I'm just spoiled/lazy.I also like the idea of not having all those Creative drivers and craplets on my machine. The problem is I don't think that AC97 is Full Duplex because I can't get voice comm programs to work ...no mic:mad:
What I think I will do is: use the SB Live and run the jacks from the card thru to the front female jacks and hardwire (solder) them. Not as elegant but it will give me front panel access to the SB without crawling around in back. Like a poorman's breakout box.
