I feel like after every install/update of a program I get the dreaded "Please click ok to restart computer to complete update/install"

I know its common but Im wondering what effect it has on hardware? The constant booting/rebooting 3,4,5 times in a row when building a new rig or updating a older one. Does it harm the pc at all being rebooted so many times?

Anybody have info on this?

OC'ing and extra voltage does cause more wear and tear on the system then a couple of reboots. The current never stops running through the system durign a restart. Turning off and on would be worse, I think.

PCs are built for thousands, even millions, of on-off cycles. As long as the system isn't locked up (requiring a hard reboot) it won't hurt a thing.
