I have an older, but good HDD. My problem is that I can't get it to boot. I would like to reformat it, but I don't know how. And I'm not sure what OS is on it...I think it's Win95/98

Can someone point me in the right direction?

Thanks

If you're just looking to format (not recover) you can use a boot disk. That will get you to FDISK which you can use to destroy/create partitions. FORMAT after that.

If you don't have a boot disk and can't create one, some here have mentioned that you can d/l the contents from bootdisk.com.

yea u can boot from a bootdisk and use fdisk, or can use something like partitionmagic.. Or if u have another computer around u can hook the hd up as a secondary and format it there. :D

In the bootdisk of Windows 98..

The command of

"format c:/s"

Format C: meaning to clear it out and the
/s to make it bootable.
