I have this corsair memory and the fastest I can run the memory is at 225mhz that is stable. I can run 2-3-3-6, which is great and all, but I want to run my clock at 2.8 ghz, and run the memory at 230-235 mhz.

I was planning on buying some used memory on ebay or craigslist. So I think I spotted some ocz gold that will work, but I am really not sure with the part numbers and all. Maybe just go for it?

Why only 2.8? you can go way higher than that. Change the divider to get more to your liking. Im running underclocked on my RAM with the 1:1 ratio yet im at 3.34Ghz and I dont feel like making it run right at 200, its no biggie to me.

DDR450 @ 2-3-3-6 is a damn good setup for ddr1.

Make sure you benchmark your changes cause you could find yourself going backwards performance wise if you move away from that sweet spot you have with the ram now.

I've been running 2 X 512Mb Crucial Ballistix PC3200 @ 270 2.5,3,3,10 @ 2.8 volts stable on my VNF3-250. It ran 2.5,2,2,10 timings up to about 250.
