Well not only did you start off with an advantage, but I am giving you a bigger one. My main crunchers hard drive is south of the border. It lasted longer then the drive it replaced. 3 monthes a new record. One more screw up and I think Compaq will take this computer back and give me a new one, or atleast a new/better hard drive. So I won't be crunching on my main for a week. Oh...and I lost the 1.4GHz at the LAN party, so no new cruncher for me. Don't worry though...I guarentee it will be a fight to the finish.

I also have had my share of problems:

The last two weekends my work PC has come to the habit of loosing finnished WU. Seems that the server here is having some major issues (or it might be the webserver) and when it transmit a finished WU, the SETI program will produce an error and the WU will not be taken by SETI. I will try the floppy disk trick and see if it is the connection or my PC. Damn that were around 10 WU in total. :mad:

Also I'm having some lack of communitation with my new mobo vendor, so the new dual mobo might not be finished before Deember.

Okay Mictlan tell the truth you got a curse on me? Came home from college planning on getting some crunching done on my Celeron system here, and much to my surprise the CPU fan is bad. Still running but not fast enough to clear heat off of heatsink. Good news is Compaq sent me a 20.0Gig Western Digital. Not bad at all...huray the 6gig fuijitsu is dead.

Time after time, COMPAQ is not worth it.....glad they sell out to HP.....

If HP merged with COMPAQ to eliminate competition, and phases out home user PC's, and low end workstation and servers then it was a good move. However, if HP integrates the COMPAQ lines with their own, then that sucks. HP has had good quality lines - who knows what you will be getting in the future - a HP or a COMPAQ - they will both have one name.

Hey, Sir-Epix, sorry for my ignorance, but what is the team that you are on?

I am on a team called Novastar, which I made. It is made up of mainly students at Bowling Green State University, or friends of mine. ;) This is my home away from home though, and Seti is one of my pations so I like to help this team anyway I can.
