Voodoo 5 , Celeron 700 , 128mb ram, Win XP Pro

Good FPS, and on par with my Radeon in terms of quality.

The only game I can't get good FPS is RTCW on the V5, but every other game I've played works great.

While I had a V5, I never came across a game it wouldn't run acceptably, and most of those were in AA too!

I always thought that benchmarks really sold the V5 short- it's a great card in my opinion.

YEa I know...thats the only reason I have my V5 still...Now I was wondering would I notice a difference in systems switching from a PIII 733 w/ 128mb ram and a Asus Cuv4x mobo...to a 1Ghz AMD T BIRD with a MSI Turbo-R mobo...plus the proc. will be overclocked nicely.

The Voodoo 5 runs alot better with processors over 1 Gig.

well it sure would be faster...probably not going to be a night-and-day difference however. Couldn't hurt, that's for sure!!

Just Shoot: When the V5 came out, 1ghz+ CPUs were few and far between. I ran mine on a P3 600 and it was just fine. More speed helps of course:)

I was running a PIII 450 @625 and It did alright. Noticed a jump going to PIII 850 @ 1003 and the to a AMD 1.2 T.B @ 1485 Now to the 1.4 t.b. at 1740 That Was the real jump. That and the 1.08.03s which helped a bunch with direct x8.

Don't know why but tried a geforce 2 ultra for about a week and then moved it to the back up machine. Just like my Voodoo cal it nestalga

yeah, if you read the articles on the front page, ed has a good point, people make a big deal about fps, but all that matters is f you can play the game at decent framerates wehile getting awesome visual quality that Voodoo gave you, RIP 3dfx, we will miss you....i just hope ATI has fixed it drivers in time, and it doesnt go down the tube as well, but then again, it has outlasted 3dfx and Matrox (who really cares about workstation cards anyways), and has been around longer than Nvidia itself, hopefully PowerVR will take up 3dfx's spot with the KyroIII, in fact the Kyros have a lot in common with the Voodoos, so what if they dont give you 120fps in QuakeIII, they allow to play the game at superb image qualities......man...long rant...whooh.....yeah Voodoo 5 s more than enough, FSAA will never be the same again.....cept maybe well have to see how smoothvision works out...looks real pretty from what ive seen....

That part is the most demanding part of the game.

I had to lower my resolution one notch to let her run nicely.

(its harmless but someone might rag on you mentioning a warez copy, might wanna change it :) )

buy the game even if you did buy and crack it please don't post this in the forum. read the sticky for rulz and what not.

v5 is sweet in Max but FSAA gave me problems so I just turned it off cuz the game looks nice anyhow.
