I'm sure you can get an enclosure and do it on a raptor. Don't see why not.
There can be, just buy a SATA2 compatable Firewire drive casing and a very fast HDD. ;)
But such a fast drive will need a casing that can dissipate heat decently well.

if people can make cases outta nothin but fans, anything is possible. you aint got nothin to lose except money.
Its hard to believe that there is not an over the counter product for a firewire 800 10krpm drive (YET).
