Lovin' the Voodoo5, I am myself a die-hard 3dfx user (a dying breed)... but why not go with a platform that supports DDR? It really wouldn't set ya back that much more.

Yea i have thought about that but.....meh...I mean people hav eproven it isnt really a noticeable diff. in DDR......also......there is a cost diff

If I were you and were buying new, I would at least want 256 Meg's of RAM in the system. I noticed longer more stable use from my system when I added in a second stick of 128 meg PC-133 in my old P-II 400. Far cry from what I am running now, but the extra RAM will help!

that is a good system, kinda like mine, self built, and well performing. Yes i too would go DDR, no a big diference mabe 3-5%, but still its an improvement. And at crucial.com a SDRAM 256 stick is $27 and a DDR 256 stick is $29 so for the $2 i think it be a ood bet to go with. But then again you have to also get a board that supports it, but hey those are cheap too.......Shuttle Ak31 rev 3 is 481 at newegg. And that is a good performer by any/all standards. Im also partial to nVidia, but at some things VooDoo cant be beat.....can say Quake 3

Good JOb and Good System

I like your mobo choice ( I hesitated because of lack of DDR but the difference in performance versus features and dollars) because of the raid and I like its ease of oc. Boost your ram and you are good to go.

Looks like a good system and fairly low bucks ( relatively speaking of course!)
I agree with ddr being better and worth the extra bucks, but $ is $.

The only thing I definitely give low marks to is 128 mb of ram: that is the MINIMUM I put in a pc! Doesn't matter the OS, 256 will make a BIG difference. And if you run an NT-based os, 512 of pc133 will be excellent and inexpensive.

Gotta get more ram, man.

One thing I would mention and its not very expensive and that is get the best cooling for your cpu that you can afford. I wish I had at the time I built my rig (GeckoBox) instead of doing it over later. I even went and got stronger case fans to keep the case nice and breezy.
