Anyone else having this Gigabyte DS3 PIO IDE issue? Even with F4C bios?

I've been scouring forums with mixed results on this issue. Apparently when using RAID on a DS3 board, all IDE devices are stuck in PIO mode. Someone linked a beta F4C bios that was suppose to fix the problem, I have flashed my bios with this version but my DVD-R drives still seem very sluggish. The drives spin up, pause, and seem to buffer data. General access of the drive are very slow even though in windows device manager says DMA mode 5.

Anyone have a simmilar experience? Man this mobo kicks *** except for this one HUGE issue.

Try removing the drives and the IDE controllers from the device manager and rebooting.

Also, try the F4E BIOS. The one posted here is what I'm using:
