View Full Version : Question about X6800
Ok i just got my X6800 and the question i have is that when i boot my PC in my BIO the Clock speed says 200 shouldn't this say 266? also in my system its says 2.9 which is the right CPU speed and i tried to run CPU-Z and its saying error not all the info will be avb. and the speed says 1600 mhz which i know is wrong i tried the program everest and that says 2.9 and the bus speed 267 which is right. I'm i overlooking something here? and i upated my BIO to the lastest F3 version.i'm new to overclocking and i want to try it soon but i don't think my Bus speed is right in my BIO any help would be great.

the F3 bio's should work fine for now.. the F4c's are beta, I could grab them for you but I think your problem is a memory setting in the bios.

Your going to want to run your ram as slow as possible manualy (disabling the C.I.A.2) and setting it to 2.00
beta bios update.

Yes i am using the newest CPUZ its 1.35 i'm using also please bear with me here i'm very new here and just learning but i'm not to sure what you want me to do i really don't want to install the beta. i'm just one of those people whos not a big fan of beta. i know you said there a memory problem its just that if i want to overclock a little someone told me before by uping the bus speed from 266 to like 288 should get you to about 3.2 or so without even trying now that my bus speed says 200 i don't really know what to do here.

check out the first link in my post..
you need to enter your current bios (I dont think the F4c's are nessary) and change the auto overclocking feature on the memory to the manual settings and set the memory to 2.00..
I don't have your board or processor so I cant figure out EXACTLY what to change for you, thats just what I've read about it.
ok i saw the link but the things is should i change it to 2.66 so it will be 266? maybe i'm wrong here but not sure?

nonono.. you want to set it to 2.00 they dont make ram fast enough to overclock it at any higher setting yet.

Gautam explained the setting with that post.
Normaly your ram is double pumped/rate, that would be the 2.00 setting; the lowest for the board, running the ram 1:1 with the FSB.
