and here: amazing memory scores with some good tweaking:

I should add that im using golden sockets to adjust the multipliers because the tyan has no oc features at all. These are true Athlon MP cpu's so i get all the smp benefits. In order to get those high memory scores i had to tweak it using some wprcredit options. I have to give thanks to Mr. Slick at Athlonoc.com for the memory tweak help.

Sweet setup, Dang I wish I could get my hand on that kinda money, I see you had XP too, I love it, dang, I just thought of this, but whats your boot times, like 10 secconds, oh sorry I was day-dreaming;).

P.S. What screen saver did you have there, that looks awsome.

actualy your about right on the boot times... it takes seconds for this thing to load windows. Its the most responsive system i have ever used. I had a athlon xp at 1.7ghz and this thing kills it. I have been able to burn cd's, installing programs, listening to music etc.. at the same time with no loss in performance. The extra cpu realy helps. Win XP Pro has been great except that its realy picky with drivers. It takes advantage of the second proccessor. If you use the task manager it shows cpu usage for both processors which is sweet. If i get some time i will post a pic of the cpu usage with multiple programs running to prove this. In the mean time im looking for way to pencil these Mp's to 1.85v so i can try for the next multiplier on these golden sockets.

Yes, What are these golden sockets!??

The Tyan is Server board and therefor has no Overclocking features. In order to overclock you need the golden sockets as they are a socket extension that has dip switches to change mulitpliers for your cpu's . Heres a link to the product: Golden socket (http://www.plycon.com/goldsock.htm)
I had to get 2 one for each socket.

How much did that setup cost you?

Because Im interested in dual athlons, I am Planning to build 2 AMD systems this christmas but..
I could just build a dual :D...well maybe
So..which dual board would be at a good price?
...and what type of DDR memory do u use? PC2100+?
im also guessing you cant change the FSB though...
A dual Athlon would be great for Tribes 2 :)
Also..Win2k would be good enough for an OS right?
also do the 64bit PCI slots accept 32bit components?

Well they dual athlon setup is very expensive. It depends on what you want. If you want to go full out like i did then get the tyan thunder k7 like mine. It supports 4gb ddr ram. has dual onboard ultra160scsi, dual onboard 3com ethernet, and onboard ati rage video. Its a monster motherboard... has 10 fan connectors alone. Heres a pic of it:Thunder K7 (http://www.amdmb.com/image.php?IMGURL=http://www.amdmb.com/images/tyanthunderk7/tyan1.jpg) It cost $500 alone. You also need to get a special 20 pin connector power supply thats thunder only and cost another $150. It only supports regestered ddr memory which doesnt come cheap as well. Athlon MP cpu's are a little bit more expensive that xp's too. I think you can get MP at 1.4ghz for about $180 now. Check out www.amdmb.com as they have great coverage of the tyan athlon boards there. Theres the tyan tiger board too which is dual but doesnt have all those extra features like scsi but it performs just as well. Both boards have no OC features though. It can be done with some extra cash and work but the dual performace alone is more than any good overclocked single athlon system i have used.
