question about DHCP and the gateway address

Is there any way (in xp and sever2k3) to let dhcp assign the ip address but keep a manually assigned gateway address? there dosen't seem to be any way from what I can tell..

Why yes :)

Not sure if those options are allowed in XP...but definately 2003.

In 2003

Go to Start / Administrative Tools ->
DHCP ->
Expand your server ->
Expand the scope you want to assign the gateway for ->
Right Click Scope Options ->
Click Configure Options ->
Check the 003 Router box ->
Put in the IP address of your gateway in the IP address box while Router is highlighted ->
Hit OK

You can assign a lot of stuff to be automatically set by DHCP.
