Will Gigabyte DS3 boot up fine with OCZ DDR2 PC2-5400 Gold GX XTC. I'm hearing lots of problems with this mobo, and OCZ DDR2 800 RAM. Are they voltage issues? Anyone have experience with this?

Thanks.

The problem is that the BIOS that ships with the DS3 defaults the vdimm to 1.8v, while many RAM modules require 2.0v or more. You can look up the voltage requirement for that ram yourself to see if there will be a problem. Some people have been able to post until they were able to increase the vidmm in the BIOS, and others said that they could post, but windows not install/start until they increased the voltage. If you are unlucky and can't get your ram to go at 1.8v, then one option is to get a cheap stick of 256MB DDR2 that is rated for 1.8v, update the BIOS, then put in your OCZ ram. There's like a $25 Corsair System Select stick on Newegg rated for 1.8v
