Tagan TG480w-U22 good enough?

I wonder if this PSU has enough power to drive a new conroe system along with either 7900gt or x1900xt gfx.

I know it has 20amps on each 12v rail or 30(35)amps on one single rail.

It would be a big help if it did, because it would save a few £'s my end when budget might be a little tight.

It will be enough but it also depends on how hard you are going to overclock (if you are) as well as the other components in your system. CPU and video card tend to be the biggest power draws and the Tagan can handle those pretty easily (at stock speeds)

If you already have it, go with it. Give it a try and if you get lock ups or artifacts than you might want to consider something new.

If you're considering buying it, DON'T. Low end Topowers, modular units included, aren't very solid and tend to be high priced. There's are better alternatives.

Ive already got it in my existing system and its not very old..so if it will run the system i would be happy.

i guess i will see when i put the system together and see how it performs.

Would like to Oc it if i can, but i will just be glad to get new system up and running first and go from there.

i'd say it would do fine. that's what i run in my rig with an opty 170 @ 2.75 1.41v 1800xt @690/1600 2 ide's 1 raptor 5 case fans plus the cpu and gpu fans. it's been rock stable even folding 24/7 so i'd say it should do alright. and this is all running close to the max for this psu but still no drops in any rails.

that kinda puts my worries to bed as we say.

Im only running barton 2.5g atm with 9800 pro 2 ata drives and 5 case fans, but it is hardly pushing it.

now to plan what mobo, cpu, gfx, mem i will be getting :)
