How's it work?
Well, I run the CLI version on OS X and I cd into the directory and then type
./setiathome
On any OS before that there's a screensaver for sure, I don't think there's a cli client. here's a link with more info:

What kind of machine do you have, and what kind of performance are you getting out of it.
I almost got smacked by CY for the question...
I've got a G4/400 and it takes about 17 hrs/unit with the cli client. I don't think the seti client is optimized for the G4 like distributed.net client is.
I knew I should have smacked him when I had the chance! A MAC of all things!
