Geforce 6100 equivalent?

I want to get a nicer card for my s754 rig. I want it to play wow for me as during the summer, my desktop heats up the room too much.

What Ia m wondering is, how powerful is the 6100? What would be an ATI equivalent? Is it about what my x300 based one was?

I've taken a look at the scores @ ORB, and the highest '05 score I could find for the 6100 was ~650-700.

For the x300, 1500-1800 seemed average. Seems like a much inferior
card.

Are you going to play WOW on that rig?

if you want WoW, you gonna need a much better card. How about a x850, sometimes they are freakin cheap.

@Dan: Huh, you're right. Sounds like this puppy needs some major replacing!

@White_Pawn: Wow works fine on this, but its just..slower. I would like a nice x850 or something but they are loud. I am thinking about a 7300GT or a 7600GS maybe, as they have silent cooling on many of them.

I assume it's AGP?

I'd recommend a x800 card with an arctic silencer..

Have you considered the x850xt going for $90 in the Egg? add an Arctic Silencer 5, and you're set!

Sick price, paid more for my x800gt less than a year ago which is 50% slower :-/, oh the technology

I would but I live in Canada. So, No Egg for me. Cheaoest x800 is an x800 GT for $100. Cheaest X850 XT is $200 CAD. I am lookign for REAL cheap, you know? and passive cooling if possible.

Well i want it to supprot linux but I looked at that x1300 if I can't find a nice cheap nvidia. But..again, no newegg.

Is it worth the 40 bucks to get a 6200 TC? Or would i notice no difference?
