i'm a noob that is trying to put LEDs on a fan. i got the voltages worked out, i think, just not sure how to put it together


FAN--<+ wire>---[+]LED[-]---<- wire>---------------<+ wire>--*resistor*--:molex:
'--<- wire>---------------<+ wire>---[+]LED[-]---<- wire>----------------:molex:

i have.. 2x 2v red LEDs on 12v, with a 330ohm resistor..


can i solder it now? i wanna solder it.. :drool: mmm melt

why you dont simply put your led on wire directly from the molex

i would just run the led parallel with the fan. putting them all in series like that will lower the power to the fan and slow it down, and im not sure if the leds would like all the current flowin through them.

molex+ --<resistor>---<+led->---<+led->--- molex -

hope this helps some, just calculate the resistance for 12V, if you want it powered from the wires going into the fan.

or you couldjust buy a fan with led in it for around the sameprice MAYBE a littlemore..
