Hey guys,

For my mother business, she sent me a PDF File with all her stuff and i dont want to type it all out as it will take a long time.

Is there any way i can get the text off of it ? Is there a program to do that?

Actually i was looking more towards...like...getting text off a screen. But for this one time i need it for a PDF...but i want to be able to get text off other stuff too. So i was looking for a more generic Text off of a screen program...

I dont know if one exists or not..

Can't you just copy/paste the text?? Unless it happens to be a image, then you could probably use some OCR software.

You could always donload the trial of acrobat professional which will allow you to edit the document unless its passwrod protected (in which case your mother will be able to inform you of this).... alternatively you could always ask your mother to send you the document in aother format

Reader 7.0 (and I believe 6.0) has the option to just copy/paste the text after selecting. The toolbar button says "select", or you can alternatively find it by going to the Tools->Basic->Select menu option.

For general-purpose "text off the screen", the only solution I can think of is some OCR software. Nothing else will be capable of "reading" every file format and extracting text.
