I was looking at wacom tablets latley and I have been thinking of getting one. I was wondering if anybody could give me a recomendation on what would be a good size or type. Also what if any of the extras that they offer would be useful?
Also does anybody know of a different tqblet company or should I just stick with Wacom?

I had a Wacom tablet a while back- it was a pain to set up, I had to get a SCSI host card first, but once working it was very cool.

My advice is to get the largest size you can afford- at least as big as your monitor would be a good idea.

I've seen some tablets by Cirque, but they were for less than half the price...I have to wonder wether they are any good.

Dont get the PS-2/serial ones. They are an absolute pain.

I had one a while ack also, was a US one though, and personally I thought setup was a breeze and I really liked the sensitivity it had. I got mine off ebay, but do some searches I'm sure you'll be able to find something

A wacom tablet is a device that looks like a tablet being 4 x 5 inches wo 12 x 18 and about 1/2 inch thick. It allows you to control the pointer useing a provided pen or other tool. Touch the pad to left click, press a button on the pen to righ click and use the eraser on the end to delete or erase in supported programs. It is used mostly for graphic design like photoshop but works quite well in many other programs.

The web site is www.wacom.com to learn about them(make sure to check out the Cintiq) and www.sijun.com to see what can be done with them.
