I just got my rheobus (sunbeam) and what to clarify a few things.
Do the fans rely on the power provided by the rheobus?
Most of my fans cannot reach the rheobus by themselves, is this normal or am I confusing some of the wiring or something? Or do I need to buy extensions?
Thanks very much

the fans need to be plugged into the rheobus to be affected by it. you can extend the wires yourself or buy extensions. unortunately fansusually dont come with that long of wires on them, can make things complicated like this.

Would there be a problem if I used the rheobus to decrease the fanspeed on my nv silencer 5?

only problem i see is it would affect your card's temps. i'd say use a program to monitor the core temp and start slowing it while under load to see how slow you can safely take it without makin your card too hot.

Hm, but how many volts can the fan on the cooler take? I wouldn't want to damage it.

as far as i know it should be a 12v fan.
is it powered from the card? or a molex? if it was from the card i would look into if the card can control the fans speed itself, so it can dynamically modify the speed as load changes.
