I just did a drive format and a full reinstall of XP Pro. I have the same hardware attatched that I have been using for a year, including an HP Photosmart 8450 ethernet/usb printer. The printer is connected to my SMC router. I just discovered after the reinstall that I can only use this printer from the Admin account. I have the share turned on, the printer says, "ready" from the user accounts, but when I try to print I get a "This document failed to print" message. The usb printing still works fine and the network port works from the Admin account.
What's the problem here? I can't find any other obvious settings to adjust but there is apparently something wrong with permissions somewhere. Where do I grant printing permissions to all network users?

in admin account open printers, right click on your printer, security / permissions tabs, allow the other users..

Already did that. It didn't help.

I also have another printer problem now. Every time I reboot the computer, the last several documents print out again. I can't find any buffer anywhere that would indicate there are print jobs waiting. It just repeatedly prints the same docs from the past few days. This is really agravating.

It appears that Windows Updates are basically destroying my system (again) because every time I make the mistake of allowing them this kind of garbage starts happening.
