atm i have 2 7800gt's running in sli. on ebay i see people selling 2 for £330+ which means i would only need to spend about £30-£50 for a 7950. do u reckon its worth upgrading?? i know dx10 is jus round the corner but tbh i dont care seeing as it will be a while till its fully utilized just like dx 9. my question is will the 7950 be better than 2 7800gt's in sli?? i use a widescreen monitor with a native res of 1680x1050 so would will need to run games in native res. would the 7950 be able to cope??

No in your case its not worth it imo. Wait for direct X 10. I just built my new Conroe rig and bought a cheap 89$ X800Pro to hold me over till I can see if first gen DX 10 cards will be good.

I had a couple of heavily overclocked 7800GTs and recently upgraded to a 7950GX2. Blows the 7800s outta the water. If you can get away with just spending $100 or so after selling you 7800s (like I did) I would do it.

DX10 won't be viable for awhile, might as well have the shiniest and newest!

If you have the money to blow sure! It would surely outperform almost everything else in the high end catagory. ( this month )

I did a stepup from 7900GTX to 7950GX2. I dont regret it one bit. Though if the stepup wasnt available I think I wouldnt have bothered with a GX2 but I wouldve missed out!! The GX2 is a great piece of hardware, even just a single one.

To answer the question specifically if you think you can swing it go for it. The performance is great. Otherwise I'd stick with dual 7800gt's.
