I searched and didnt find this posted in the forums. If you happen to have a netgear MR814V2 router, you can upgrade to the MR814V3 firmware and you now have WPA!

I just did it and it works. I havent had enough time to test if this makes the router finally work with an airport extreme without having to restart every hour.

Not so fast. I tried installing the mr814v3 firmware on my mr814v2, and could not get WPA to work. I tried everything possible--it was a full stop, no-go. My laptop could not connect no matter what I tried. And while some people claim to have made it work, some others have had the same experience as I have ( http://www.broadbandreports.com/forum/remark,11816282 ).

The good news is that I was able to revert to the mr814v2 firmware. I recommend anyone trying the v2/v3 firmware swap to backup their current configuration first, unless they enjoy manually reconfiguring everything.

By the way, the link provided is dead, but the cached copy of it says "This firmware is only for versions ending with "v3". Do not use it on earlier MR814!". And for good reason.
