How is this card? it has 64 mb of SDR not DDR, does it perform better than the old regular 32mb DDR radeon?

Yes, it should outperform any 32MB cards, even DDR ones.

For the extra few bucks I'd get the 7500 or wait a few months and get the 8500 for the same price. Things are evolving out of control in the video card market and nothing seems to be stopping it, so until it becomes necessary, I wouldn't bother... IMHO.

actually the it is a toss up, radeons dont need much memory bandwith, but they need mre than that, from the reviews i read the 64mbSDR performs on par with an MX while the 32mbDDR crushes them....Pinky the 7200 is not a new card based on RV200 it is actually just a different name for the original 64mb SDR so people would be able to see which radeons were better just by looking at the numbers...

Radeon 64 DDR vivo would be agood choice and they are cheaper now , maybe a little less performance than a 7500 but not much, Funnyperson 1 would you agree??

Mine does it all , I am waiting for 8500 to drop more in price

yes i do agree, but hes talking bout the SDR version, and the DDR VIVO is nice, i wouldve gotten that but 150$ was that magical barrier that my parents would not let me cross....so geforce it was for me.....not that im sorry or anything because everytime i get a new driver i get a nice performance boost....still woulda been nice to have that DDRVIVO, 6to tell you the truth most video cards made after 98 can handle the newest hgames....If you have a:
Voodoo3
Rage128 Pro
TNT2Pro
or up chipset on your video card most games will run fine, personally i might upgrade when i go to college, itll be a tight decision beteween KyroIII and 8500.....

is my Radeon 32MB SDR (PCI) the same as the Radeon 7200? The Device Manager says "Radeon 7200/Radeon", what is the difference?

the new drivers have reported a lot of cards as the 7200, but it is really only supposed to be the 64mb SDR version, and the only difference i can tell is that your card is 32 megs/pci while the 7200 is 64mb/AGP....

Thats another thing that bothers me. It reports my 64DDR VIVO as a 7200/Radeon also. And needless to say the new drivers won't run on my machine. I get all the way to where the desktop is ready to come up and it just sits there...

So I'm still using the old 3012 drivers for 2k. I would love to be able to force the new drivers in, but it won't let me.

Won't let me either. I've tried all methods of getting these buggers in and they do install. Problem being that it then locks me out of 2000 (won't accept my password randomly), then if I do get in I get a blank screen.

So I'm back to the 3102s, don't like any other builds so far, introduce more artifacts and glitches than I've ever had with the 3102s.

Pinky has the Win2K 7530 on his site, I run em in XP Pro have not had a glitch and they have given me the best score in 3D mark2001.

Oh..so now I know why my Radeon 64mb SDR has 2 names, need to fix my sig then, All I can say is im very satisfied with this card and the new drivers, for me anyway, run even under WinMe which is agreat gaming OS but lacks stability of 2k...but i get more FPS in Me soo...Im surpirsed this card runs as good as it does with my cpu... not to mention what my setup is going through...even if though this card is clocked low it runs fine at 167/167 Tribes 2 is just loveing it...just got a new game Road Wars(Twisted Metal and Gran Turismo's child)..FSAA at 1024x768x16 (32 bit not supported) and runs sweet...just wish gamespy would hurry up and support the game...

(dont worry its not diseased)
