I apologize if this is out of line for this forum, but I am looking for a discussion on these photochopped bumper/grill ideas. I won't say yet which I like best, but I do want to know what the majority thinks looks best. Thanks!

I like with no bars but it looks kinda like an altima grill to me. The horizontal bar isn't bad either.

The best idea would be to remove the front plate, that would look best. Front plates kill the look of any car.
Even if your state requires them what are the odds you will get ticketed for it, my state requires them and I have driven without one for 6 years here and never been stopped
When is the last time you saw a corvette with a front plate?
I like with the horizontal bar.
I like Neons...they can be made to look pretty sleek. I'd rather have a SRT-4 though, talk about a small car with an overpowered engine :):)

agreed. Also get rid of that front plate.
I like the horizontal bar, as it fits the flow of the other lines on the car already.
Oh, Cyrix_2k, he just blanked out his plate. You can see the red, white and blue lines in the reflection on the front plate.

yeah, I know he just blanked it out. I meant he should delete the plate all together and just put it behind his windshield or something. It would look much cleaner that way.
Ah, not a bad idea at all. It really does defeat the purpose to have that when you're trying to clean/mod up your grill.

I would say if you are planning to put a new grill in then go with #4 a nice chrome either horizontal or vertical grill would look good, much like the lincoln town car has.
I agree with removing the front plate holder, and if you are required to have a front plate just get it recessed into the bumper its self.

i like no bars at all... needs some chrome.. or all blacked out... nothing but black ..
i would defiently remove or lower the license plate..
xenocide.. it may be a neon but its his neon.. he can still enjoy his car even if its not the "best"
xeno has a 6cyl mustang..
just playing..lol
i still vote leave it be, ditch the plate

for aroun d 1500USD you can make a Neon a damn fast car. Bash them all you want but for a little $$ you can make em pretty quiick.
Redo the Headgasket or make sure that it was replaced before modding your car.

Yeah, atleast an SRT4 is fast in a straight line, but I still have a problem concerning the reliability of Chrysler products. Lets just say we have had some majot problems with them... Other than that, I think the Neon's a nice cheap car :)

I have ridden in and driven a SRT-4, If I dont buy the condo I am looking at I will probably get one used instead and keep renting.

Thanks for all the input! Couple things I want to add...
OK, so it's a Neon. Big whoop-de-do. I don't know why so many people think a car is junk if it's not fast. I choose the Neon because I have to drive a lot and it's gets me 38mpg hwy. It's going to save me a ton of money on gas (possibly 2k a year or more), compared to something fast that might get me 25mpg. Yet at the same time it's not a total dork-mobile like a Metro or something. Another thing, maybe the quality is not world class, but it's nice to me (this is my first car that isn't older than I am!) and fully loaded it cost less than a base Honda 3-5 years older.
Now my opinions. At first I was going to buy a body kit, but they all look too ricy or too plain. I like the basic shape of the front bumper and I see pontential, hence this thread.
1) Bleh, it's stock. Boring. I have to put my signature on everything I own with a litte customizing. I don't want the ricy boy racer look, but rather something that stands out for the fact that it's subtle and tasteful.
2)Eh, not too bad, but it clashes with the body lines and reminds me of a Pontiac.
3)I think I like this the best. It looks like it could be stock, and also pays tribute to the early Neons.
4)Nice and open, sleek, uncluttered. But it almost looks too bare, like something's missing. Maybe a big Ram emblem right in the middle (think Mazda) would finish it off, but I hate badges and have removed all of them so far except the one on the front bumper.
I agree I need to do something about the liscense plate. The factory location is terrible, it looks like it was tacked on as an afterthought. I thought about moving it over that lower "vent" on the driver side, and blocking off the pass side to make it look right. But totaly removing it would be best. I'm not sure I can get away with that, so maybe in the windsheild is best. I wonder if there is a holder made for this, so it doesn't look like you have a plate just sitting in your window. I'd get tired fast of the rattles and sliding around. Time to google.
