Monitor keeps going blank

I have a GF2 GTS and a sylvania 19" monitor. When I select a new link or open a web browser the monitor goes blank for a few seconds then clicks and the screen comes back. The clicking sound is the same that it makes when it comes out of standby. I have tried several drivers and none seem to help. Is my monitor on it's way out, or is it something else?

It has been doing it for about 2 months but has gotten worse the past few days.

Have you checked the power management features of the monitor (the built in ones). Might be worth getting a repair shop to look the monitor over..........

Some monitors do this when switching resolution........

I don't have any power management features in the monitor. Why would it be changing resoloution?

i'm having the same problem, just very random. i have a 17' Sony trintron multiscan 17SE (old one with BNC connectors from 1994)

I talked to someone and they said ti could be a simple adjustment like the timing or something, so i would take it into the shop to get it adjusted.

yah take it to the shop. i had the same problem once... it was a brand new el cheapo DTS 17incher... it kept on blacking out on me in the middle of the game... i think its a factory defect.
