Hey guys,

really quite discouraged at the moment and was wondering if you guys could give me any good advice. Yesterday I went to upgrade my comp, bought a new case, PSU, and graphics card. Got a Geforce 7600 gs oc BFG from Fry's, thought it would be a great card. I get everythign set up transporting everything into my new case, set up all my new drivers with the disk they gave me with my card, start up World of Warcraft (same with any game i've tried) and about 1-2 minutes into playing my graphics lock up, system locks, and either a BSOD comes up and restarts my system, or I'm forced to reboot manually. I've checked and its apparently running the most current drivers (can't install the 91.31 because I believe they're already installed according to my device manager) My PSU has plenty of power, modular antec 500 with the cable only going to my graphics card and my cd-r drive, and the cooling is fine in my new antec case. I am stumped as ever guys, i've tried everything and I'm getting desperate here. Please please please post back ASAP and tell me any bit of help at all

Dave

This will give you a good reason to return it. Every once in awhile I go to frys just to laugh at the prices they charge for video cards. Go buy something from newegg etc and save some cash in the process.

I wouldn't even bother to try to fix the problem due to the amount of money you prob spend on that card that you now have the opportunity to retrieve justly.

My first thought would be a bad video card.
Have you tested your PSU (idle and under load) with a multi-meter?

Run Prime95 for a few hours and make sure its the video card that's doing it. Also run chkdsk to make sure you don't have some HD errors.

Take a look at the video card temperature using the monitor and see how hot that sucker is getting. My 7600 GT was hitting 115c, YIKES, and throttling itself.

What video card were you using before the upgrade, Did you use drivercleaner to remove all remnants of previous drivers before installing the new drivers, Also, I avoid the drivers from the cd's that come with the cards, Just go straight to Nvidia's website for drivers.
I would also double check all connections, Make sure the 12v connection on the motherboard is secure, Etc. It does indeed sound like it could be a power problem and I would check all connections.
