not stock air, but an after market cooler.

Or owuld water be preferred?

vmodded gpus are run all the time with air, as with chipsets, and depending on the voltage cpus. so yeah its possible, i think the main factor is how hot it gets with the cooling, it might limit you to how high you can go on the voltage.

my vmodded 6600gt is on a stock socket A heatsink (i think from a pally core cpu) running 1.7 Vs and mid 50s load. im about to vmod my a7n8x for more vcore on my applebred 1800, caus at 1.8 Vcore im at the end of my options and the cpu only hittin 43 load, got some more room i feel. it all dependso n how the temps are with the cooler and added Vs.
