I have a Tornado Nvidia Geforce MX 4000 and i have had it for a while, at first it wasnt compatible with my old motherboard, now it works with my new motherboard, with other new companants. But after a week of using it, it stopped working. It didnt stop working strait away, i was using it and it was fine then i switched the computer off then i switched it back on it stopped working. Therefore i used my on-board video card for 3 days because i thought it just got too hot. Then when i put it back in it still wasnt working, the monitor stays on stand by mode and my onboard vidoe card still works with the geforce in. Then i put my old Geforce 2 MX 100/200 in and it worked perfectly without any problem, im even using it right now. Can you please tell me what i can do to make my Geforce MX 4000 work.

Processor: Intel Pentium 4 3.00GHZ
Memory: 1Gig DDR
Motherboard: Gigabyte RZ series motherboard
Hard drive: 80GB

Sounds fried....sorry, but they do have some GREAT deals on much newer technology out there right now. You could try updating your drivers for the card 91.31 is the newest version out. I doubt is the MB or the PSU, just an excuse to spend some money man!

Welcome to O/C Forums! :welcome:

Ahhh, an 8X agp card :)

Try this; Pull it out, clean off the contacts ( the part that goes into the slot) with alcohol, let dry and re-install it.

Also go into the bios and be sure the onboard video is disabled and AGP mode is set to either 4x, 8X or AUTO. If this doesn't bring the video card back to life, I suggest you give it a burial and get a new video card.

Good Luck.

Or perhaps have you thought of an entirely new system?

for 600-800 you could build a system that would blow that one out of teh water, just some food for thought. Otherwise, i would say try cleaning it and if it is still giving you trouble, go for a new card =D.
