Hey!

I just got a new athlon processor, and mobo (epox) and put everything togeather. It does'nt really want to work!
Sometimes it post's, sometimes it does'nt. Evergtime It freezes sooner or later! I'm trying to figure out what could be causing it, but can't. My powersupply is weak, but good. (250W) I know that would be the obvious thing, but can someone think of something else that could do something like this?
I have an optical mouse. When I put the power on the light is bright, but it gets dimmer... While the computer boots the light on my keyboard blinks!

Athlon 1600xp
epox kh8a+
crucial ddr ram
seagate barracuda
matrox g400dh

One of two things, take your pick:

1) Solar flares

2) Extremely underpowered power supply

:D

Your PSU is too weak.

You'll need to go with a AMD approved PSU..

I'm afraid I'm in that boat too. You need a new PS, even if the 250W is made by a known manufacturer. I ended up paying about US$58 shipped for a Deer 400W AMD appreved PS. It should get here this week.
Ironically, I just looked at my current 250W PS and found out that it was a Deer also.

Thanks to all!

The problem was with the psu. I guess that's not a suprise... Anyway, got a 350W antek, and it's working great!

Yes, it was... I just finished installing the solar flare shield around the world, so you should all have fewer problems now. All those space flights weren't cheap, so feel free to send donations via PayPal. :D
Peace

Nice try. The Earth's magnetic field protects it from solar flares.
