Hi all, I am current using a Thermaltake Silver Orb to cool my FC-PPGA Celeron 600 @ 900Mhz on an Abit BE6 mobo (generic slotket). Temps (using crappy built-in diode) are 28C idle, 32C full load (20C ambient). At a mom&pop computer store today I saw they had gotten in Thermaltake 6CUs for $25. Right now my PC tops out @ 900mhz (1.8v), and gets more unstable during the summer. Is it worth it to upgrade to the 6CU?

There are some who have had a lot of luck with the 6Cu+ & if it fits then it should be a few degrees cooler since it has a copper slug at the base. Can you get hold of an all copper HSF?

If you're talking about the 6cu+ then I suggest you get it. If you mean the 6cu then I can't help you. There is a BIG difference between the 6cu+ and the 6cu, a BIG difference.

sonny, no I can't. There isn't a store in Maine that carries any all-copper heatsinks.

eobard, I'm pretty sure it was the 7000rpm CU+ version.

My cu+ took about 8c (I can't remember the specifics exactly) off my load temps compared to my Volcano II. 6cu+'s are great.

eobard, I'm pretty sure it was the 7000rpm CU+ version. I know how hard it is to get parts that are not offered in your area. I usually have to pay double to get certain goods:(
