I have a 1.4 athlon, and running at 1.6ghz, but I have a little problem, when the computer is in load it reboots it self. I have a feeling it has something to do with the core voltage, can someone please tell me what is the proper voltage setting for a overclocked 1.6ghz athlon. I also can't get my FSB above 137mhz. Any suggestion would be appreciated.

DDRpower,
WELCOME TO THE FORUMS!!!

Hello,
Have you checked the voltage in the bios?
What does it say.

If the voltage gets too low...
There is a wire on all atx connectors it is called the power good
wire.
The mobo sends 5+ volt current through it as long as the
voltage is on target, if it goes out of wack or is too low it will
disrupt the signal, then the computer will reset or reboot!

So please check the voltage in the computers bios if you can,
there is also a way to bypass this but, I will get into that
later if that seems to be the problom.

I agree. It could be either your vcore setting, or your power supply. First try to boost your voltage, and if that does not help, it could be that your power supply doesn't have enough juice for your overclock...

Yes, your power supply is a bit small...Keep that in mind.
However be checking the volts & tell us what your mobo says
if you have this feature.
As far as boosting the VCore its an idea, but unlikely, due
to the fact that the computer "restarts" it would normally
lock up/crash.
How about cooling? Check the cpu to make sure it is not too
hot, tell us the temps if you can (cpu, system etc.) also check
the hard drive, memory, & video card.

Well when my computer is at stock 1.4ghz the voltage in the bios read 1.82v and when overclocked it reads 1.88v and my CPU temp never goes about 40c it's always around 32c-37c when overclocked. One thing I notice is that when overclocked in my motherboard monitor read only 4.90v for my 5v. Well I'm going to list all my parts and you guys can tell me that a 300watt can handle it or not...

Yep, that settles it, you need more power! I may be wrong, but the way I understand it, that core voltage should never drop below the 5 volt line, else it will reboot. Feed it more power! Just my 2 cents.

Just short out the powerok line like I was talking about above
& see what happens.

Al-right YMAN, but I need a little more detail on shorting out the line you was talking about, and if that doesn't solve my problem what model of power supply do you recommend for my setup, I was looking at a Enermax EG465P-VE (450 watts) and I was just wandering do I have any hope of seeing a 1.7ghz for my setup, because nothing seems to want to budges, my FSB won't go above 138mhz, anything above my mouse doesn't work. :(

Ok, Here is what you need to do to short out the power~ok,

First hold the connector so that the wires are facing you and
the notch in on the left.

In the diagram do you see the "PWROK" and the "+5"
These are the ones you need to short.
Note the PWROK line is grey in color & the +5 is Red.

You will need to take a stranded wire apart & connect as many
strands as you can in the holes that corespond with the wires.
Take not it must also fit in the ATX molex on the MOBO so dont
put too many, it may take a small bit of force to get it to go
in all the way. Also be sure that the little strands of wire are
long enough so they sit as far as possible in the holes,
on the connector. GOOD LUCK!

DDRpower>> Is your mouse USB? If so you're loosing ur mouse 'cause you're loosing your USB w/ FSB higher than 138MHz...

DDr Power, i have the same motherboard as you, why would you settle with 1.6 , go for more, how much ram do you have, damn and your using watercooling, juice that puppy uo to 2ghz, or 1.9

Have you tried shorting out the power good?

If I did not clearly state how to to it,
http://www.ytec.d2g.com/WEB~PAGE/PICS/pwr.jpg

As you can see in the pic all you have to do is take
the PWROK and short it with the +5volt line, then take
that and connect it to the mobo connector.

Take some of the little copper strands in electrial wireing
(stranded wire) and twist a few of those strands together
then just stick on end on a +5 pin and the other in the pwrok
pin.
just be sure to ot short it with anything elts.
