I'm not sure if I should post this here or in the motherboard section, but I'm going to post it here first. My prob is this I have asus p3v4x with the fast writes option in the bios. When i turn off the fast writes CPUID tell's me I'm at agp 2x, when I turn it on I'm at 4x. When I have it set with fast writes on I get lockups. Anyone have this problem, or it just me? Is there a fix for this? I have DLed a reg hack for geforce to help it see 4x agp but it did nothing.

Sometimes the card is just happier at 2*.

My GeF2 will run at 4*, but at the cost of just about everything else..........

ive worked once with a p3v4x and it was completely instable using AGP4x when fastwrites was enabled. its your mobo not the video card.
that time my BIOS was still one of the first final versions released but it was old anyway. u could try updating yours in order to improve stability when using both. i remember the best solution to run all my games was using AGP2x and fastwrites (a few games would run fine with AGP4x without the fastwrites).
