Yes, lowering the vcore will lower the temp. Ideally, you use the lowest vcore that will sustain the speed you want out of your cpu. Too low, and the cpu will not function.

What do you mean by will not function?? do you mean it wont boot??

That's right. If the cpu doesn't have enough voltage, it won't boot, or if it does, it will crash when you run an application that taxes the cpu.

what vcore temp do you recommend for me??

Use the lowest vcore setting, in which your computer is stable!

i've run 1.4 at 1000mhz. Stable.

Yes, it does lower the core temps a lot!

Just make sure it can pass the prime torture test to make sure it's stable.

I would think that 1.55 is good, as long as it is stable. I always have mine bumped up a little more, but I need it to be stable.

I guess I didn't misunderstand him. Jeeeez, 1.55 vcore setting and stable. That's awesome. I wish I could do that!:)

I've got mine at 1.50 stable. I guess it just depends on your stepping and such.

Do you have your vcore set to 1.50 with your current o/c? Or is that at stock speed?

i have my 1.55 vcore after i overclocked to 1.2ghz, its on 1.55, i could make it 1.5 but i'll just play it safe on 1.55, and my temps are 42 idle and 46 full load on regular hsf, when my therlmaright sk6 comes im gonna probably overclock to 1.5ghz with 1.75 vcore, or lower.
