Being a cheap overclocker i save money by buying high end CPUs from a couple years back. I recently got a Presscott Pentium 4 @ 3.4Ghz with hyper threading for my 478 P4P-800-E Deluxe board. (zalman copper core, aliminum heatsink 2200rpm 92mm ~ silver paste). and i was wondering what are the heat ranges i sould be looking for? currently it runs at deafault around 38c-51c, overclock 5% (AI as im lazy and dont want to wase time rebooting for every little setting) 41-60C. and since with my old 2.4 celleron 60c was the crash point im a little nervous about pushing it father. i realise that there was most probally a thread earlier about this but i cannot seam to find it. so if anyone knows the heat levels i should be watching for when overclocking the prescott it would be much appreciated :) thanks!
on another note given that 5% brings it up 10c would it be worthwhile and EFFECTIVE to buy a new heatsink to go further. i have read the heatsink guide on the main page but i am also curious if any more have come out since then that beat the thermarite purecopper w/ heatpipes.
thanks alot for reading! i look forward to hearing some opinions :)
