Good games you can play for 10 minutes at a time?

So I love my Oblivions, God of Wars, Civilizations, and Sim Cities of the world, but sometimes you have 20 minutes to kill or just need a mental break. Now I'm not looking for anything like a Sodoku or puzzle game, more like an action game or a shooter that can distract me for a while but I won't feel guilty about just shutting off when I need to get back to reality. Something nice and mindless :)

Any recommendations?

Well, as far as mindless shooting goes, UT2004 is a pretty good bet. You may want to get UT2007 as well. Both will be easy to get into a deathmatch for 10 minutes or so and have a blast which doesn't require much thought, just reflexes.

I wouldn't suggest CS:S because it's one life per round and Battlefield 2 matches easily longer than 10 minutes, and demand more concentration.

You could also get Quake 4, which apparently has a multiplayer just like Quake 3, but with a gloss finish. ;)

Get a Nintendo DS. Seriously, most of the games are pick up and play, close the lid, get back to work. Great stuff.

Another suggestion should be Painkiller. I don't know if you've tried it, but it is nonstop action and slaughter. It has a bit of story to it, but I never really got past the 4th level or so...just too many other games to play at the time :p Eh, it's not free though.

1 quick level or 2 on Streets Of Rage 2 on my megadrive sorts me out for 10mins I just imagine it's my brothers head I'm kicking in that's my added bonus.

I have already broken 4 pads out of my 20 stored away.
