DS3 doesn't like my DVD Drive

Just got a DS3 and it reconizes my magicspin dvd burner as being a scsi dvd drive. I have it set as slave on the IDE channel. Anybody had this problem?

I had this same problem and I couldnt even burn any cds or dvds ! I fixed it by uninstalling the gigabyte raid software , also I went ahead and deleted the device from device manager and restarted computer. After that windows redetected my dvd burner as non scsi and I have had no coasters since =) hope this helps

tried it. Wouldnt let me boot into windows. Had to roll back. Anybody thatcan help?

Yes. You can't just uninstall the Gigabyte driver (you could've before, but you can't now). Go to Gigabyte's website and download the NEW Gigabyte Serial ATA drivers. (8-25-2006)

The new drivers actually uninstall Gigabyte's drivers safely for you. Heh.

change bios ide controller setting to ahci the reinstall gbx36 sata driver and use standard ide controller driver instead!!!
