Anyone know how to remove the HSF on this P166MMX cpu? Its an OEM chip i think, but with this HSF dos almost 233 so I want to check it out with higher end cooling,maybe water. Any ideas?

Hi bergie007,
If I remember well, you must insert your chip into the freezer for 10 min (no more) preferribly into a plastic bag, and after try to remove the HSF with your hands, it will be easy for the crystallized glue.
P.S. Check this info with the other guys coz this is only what I remember of a post red long time ago!

i second what he said, but watercooling is overkill for those chips, get yourself a golden orb and it should be more than enough for that P166....
And me 3rds that stick it in the freezer with an anti-static bag and then after you can rip it off..
And a water cooling is sorta too much for that ..
Get something else a cheap kind because those don't run that hot.
