Anyone know what C509 (capacitor) is on a 7900GT? Is it critical?

Need some technical expertise here... C509 was rattling around in the box... is it necessary? should i try to solder it back on? thanks!

I'm assuming from your post you just got it in the mail/from the store yes? If so I wouldn't try mucking around with it to put it back on. I'd return it for replacement immediately. If you try to do a repair manually you'll void your warranty. The card could be damaged in ways other than that component, and even if you do a perfect job of putting it back on the card still might not work, but you'd lose the right to return it. As for whether or not it's necessicary, I really can't see putting unnecessicary components into a device. Even if the card will function without it it probably won't function well.
