Who has Download BF2142 and has plyed the Demo?

We have only one in our clan, he likes it,but he does notice that the running is laggy and some other little bugs, what about you?

If you did and are able to play the demo what do you think?:confused:

AFAIK it is a semi public beta version avaliable to people like Fileplanet subscribers and the like.

I've been playing it since it came out and it needs a lot of work.
The first version was super buggy and the second version, which came out Wednesday is better but still has lots of bugs, namely TONS of connection problems.
Every bug that was in 1.3 BF2 is in BF2142 plus a few more so....
It runs great on my system if I could only finish a round without getting disconnected.

I am loathe to defend DICE now that they have been assimilated by the foul and greedy EA, but it is a beta, and betas would be final versions if they didn't have lots of bugs. I would take the October release date with a big pinch of salt too, most of the other battlefield titles have arrived late.

And every battlefield game has been buggy even in retail. I like the concept, but I think EA should have made this a mod and charged people less. It would show the community that they are not just greedy people looking for an easy cash cow which is what they have turned the franchise into imo, but if people will buy EA will provide them with something to buy.

Im downloading it as we speak.. And i agree about EAt. Espicialy since they bought out the NFL license and are the exclusive makers of NFL games for the next 5 years. 5 years? Thats a damn long time in video game time. I want my NFL 2k* games. IMO, the madden series is more realistic, but the 2k* series is more... fun. Bigger hits, etc.

Not to imply that you guys are spreading false information, but I still feel the following facts should be added:

- most people have no connection problems, clans "trying" to run non-official beta testing servers have server connection issues. These are not part of the real beta (which is a beta remember)

- BF2142 has had minor changes to the game engine, therefore, it could not be a mod. It is a new game though it kept alot of the BF2 content.

My understanding from players who were involved in the Beta is that even in its pre-release stages it appears to be less buggy than any previous version of BF2 or BFV. That's a good start I would say.

I for one am looking forward to this title.

i have been playing quite a bit.
my take on it is this:
if you liked the other BF games, then this is a sure buy. it is fun, good weapons, fun play, everything needed for a good game.
if you didnt get the other BF games or dont like them, then chances are this isnt your bag either so dont bother.

I am downloading BF2 Patch 1.4 530MB. Do I just hit the exe file and it will update whatever version I have to 1.4?

I did a 1.3 to 1.4 patch update but whenever I try to log into a server it said something about unmodified contents? Revert back to original retail version?

i just hope they give each team thier own skins for everything because right now i keep killing my teammates because everyone looks the same:/
