1. this was news quite a while ago
2. It's halo 2 PC that will only work in Vista, like you've correctly stated in the thread - but that has nothing to do with the thread title of "Halo 3"

If you want to play some Halo 2 multiplayer there are a ton of mods for Halo CE that will get you just that. Otherwise I guess you'll be stuck with buying vista. You could wait a while to see if anyone manages to crack it to work on XP but I doubt that will happen anytime soon.

Well cracking it to work on XP probably will be against the EULA anyways. Besides then it will also probably use DX10 which is Vista only.

Halo 2 PC will be able to use DX9. This webpage is accurate. Lots of info if you have anymore questions. (http://halo2pc.org/misc/halo2-pc-faq)

Yes vista comes out next year at the earliest. Halo 2 Vista will come out later or same day. Depends on how soon Microsoft gets there **** ready to ship. They are on RC1 right now.

Sorry about the title of the topic. I think I was extremely tired at that time that it was posted. Anyway, I tried the Halo CE version of it, and it, just didn't feel right.

Wow when did that happen. Thought it was always DX10.

It can't be DX9 only.

Only a small handful of people would be able to play it due to the price of DX10 cards.

Halo 2 runs on Xbox which is not nearly as powerful as many of today's current PC's. I was dissapointed with the choppiness of Halo2 on xbox to be honest. Either it wasn't coded well enuogh to run on the hardware in the Xbox or the Xbox wasn't powerful enough.

Frankly, in my opinion, the graphics for halo 2 sucked on the Xbox. Halo 3 on the 360 is a different matter. I just hope that they really crank up the juice for the PC version of Halo 2.

I noticed that on some xboxes (xboxen, xboxi ?). On others the image was perfect.
