Well, the box may have said it supports DDR2-800, but good luck finding anyone at ASUS to back it up... You shouldnt have any issues with most DDR667, from most of the venders, i think the qvl lists corsair/kingston.. But i cant be sure, the qvl lists from ASUS site are awfully hard to find at times, kinda like their "tech-support"....
It says it supports up to DDR2 800, but the top supported FSB is 1066 (Core 2 Extreme is supported so I can only assume corresponding DDR2 1066 is as well)
I have this motherboard and I am running corsair xms2/800 EPP. The manual is leftover info from the non-se board which says it only supports 667 ram I assure you the se version supports 800
