How can I open the same exe twice?

I used to be able to do it with Lineage 2 when I wanted to run 2 instances on the same computer but that was a whlie ago and I have since forgot.

Try copying your old shortcut and making a new one, hence having 2 shortcuts with different names.

It's opening the same file still though. When I try to open the 2nd one it closes the first. I tried to rename the actual file but it crashes. The only way I can do it at the moment is to have two complete directories, one original and one copy. I did it with a simple batch file I found online somewhere a while back but I cant seem to find it now.
