just got a glaciar

I just got a glaciar to see if it will cool enough for me to possible leave it on in place of my sk6 with y-tech fan on it at 50db loud..... right now idle is 32C ill let you all know what it is with the glaciar on oh and load is 36C at the moment.. ill be back after i switch em

man this thing sucks... its idle right now is 40C... now before with my sk6 i didn't use any thermal grease or anything just some radio shack goo that was still on the chip when i took the heatsink off so i didn't bother touching it and left it on and this glaciar is terrible i don't even notice much difference in noise... i mean true i do have two 80mm fans that are 40db a piece but still i think with an xtra 10db out of the picture is would sound quiter but it doesn't i afraid what full load will be..... my system isn't stable now at 1008mhz i had to back it down to 992mhz just to load.. its a duron 800

That sucks. I think you were fine with the sk6...Why did you change?

The rig in my sig hits 47c full load with a glaciator. I do, howerver, have a duct with a 120mm 108cfm fan blowing onto it.
