I know you can change the input languge, but how do you change the interface of the entire OS, ie, take a US version of XP and turn it into a, say, Czech version? Then how do you turn it back? A friend of mine wants to turn her US XP installation into a German installation, but wants to have the ability to turn it back if need be. I know about LIPs nd MUI packs, but haven't been able to figure out where to download them from, and I haven't seen any references to an English one at all.

Thanks!

You basically have three choices... a) Install the standard English or Czech version of the OS. b) As you already mentioned, get the MUI (Multi User Interface) which you can install on top of the existing OS... and have full support for your language (including menus, dialog boxes, help, spell-checking etc.). c) Get the multi-language version of the OS, which natively supports different localized editions.

you'll need a multi-language pack install on top of the XP. the MLP (in short) only support XP Pro, and still NOT included every single language w/in a CD. there's several different one for popular & similar language region. I have one, but it's for Asian language (and still NOT all asian language supported w/in one CD).

once installed, you can change the whole Windows interface's language to others in the Regional/Language setting under Control Panel. all it require is a reboot.

I've read about changing some registry settings to allow update from an English installation CD (it was for Spanish to English, I'm searching for it but can't find it).

The site said something about changin some values and running install from windows

Any help on this will appreciated
