Just picked it up today. We tried to load it at work on a 333MHz laptop w/ a fair ATI adapter and it was doin' some serious chokin'. Just played a few single player minutes at home and I am impressed to say the least.
The movie scenes are incredible and the play is awesome! Haven't had a chance to checkout online yet but that will come later and over the holiday!!! Finally, something for my GeForce3 to chomp down on! GO GET IT!

ah yes, return to castle wolfenstein. . .beautiful, just beautiful. also very fun, i just got off after spending the last 5 hours playing. the only reason i stopped was that i was stuck in a spot.
wish i had broadband for the multiplayer. . .not even going to try on 56k for fear of breaking out into tears of anguish and ripping out my 56k modem and beating the s***t out of it with a hammer.
(which i actually will do once i get cable, oh i cant wait, the hatred i feel when i try to play q3 or UT online. . kind of like that part in office space. .?)

He he! The only problem I'm having right now is with Zone Alarm firewall software. It always seems to create problems w/ games built on the Quake 3 engine.
As soon as I hit the multiplayer button, I'm supposed to get a notice asking me if I want ZA to let Wolf access the internet. Instead, the screen freezes and I need to reboot. Ugh!

Have you been able to get to multiplayer in wolf w/ ZA enabled? I remember switching back to 640x480 resolution in Q3 and I think that solved the problem. Gonna try it.
*EDIT*
That did the trick..sort of. I switched back to 640x480 res. w/ no gl extensions and I was able to use the mouse. The Zone Alarm window popped..I could tell it was there..but It wasn't visible. I had to guess where the "Yes" button was to allow the program to connect.
Then I quit the game and opened up the "Programs" tab for ZA and WolfMP.exe was in the list. SWEET! Game On!
From looking at the main webpage of it.. Is it like Counter Strike anyhow?
I mean there are different guns for different people in Counter Strike.. When I played the first wolfenstein.. I was a kid.. like 8 so i didn't understand the point rather than going around killing!

CompUSA had it in stock on Tue afternoon but I'd bet most of the stock is probably gone by now.
I haven't played a lot of counter-strike so I'm not sure if it's really the same. I know the graphic's level is about 10fold better. If you play online you have to select a side..either Axis or Allies.
Then you have to chose a soldier type. Either: Engineer, Medic, Soldier or Lutenient. Each type serves a different purpose. The medic can hand out medipacks to help heal people and can revive people.
The engineer can blow up doors, set charges, etc. The luteinent can give out ammo to soldiers who are out. And the soldier starts out with more ammo. The online portion really involves more coordination and teamwork.
It's a sick game..haven't even scraped the surface of the details compared to the HL line of games...which I still play daily! :)

I got it Tuesday morning at Electronics Boutique, played it for 45 minutes, and then came out here to Washington, where I'm sitting in front of a celeron 366 with 32 megs of RAM.:( What I played was awesome, though.

I saw the tin box versions up at Electronics Botique, today! Almost picked up a copy, but it was $70 :/ And I'm flying to Costa Rica for two weeks on Monday so I'll only have it for two days, and that will be on my laptop(ie: everything turned down and 56K).

I am going to pick it up this weekend. Is it me or are a lot of people giving the game a bad rap? Not here of course but I think the game is incredible. I love the multiplayer demo and even though it is only one map I have played it several times.
Does RtCW have a Npatch option? I played the demo, and I really liked the volumetric flames :D

I got it today and I love it. It kind of combines two of favorite things WWII and the xfiles. A great first person shooter.

ZoneAlarm and any internet game I try to play do not get along at first. It has become habit that any new install, upgrade or patch to the game exe will result in me doing the following:
1) setting the game to a window
2) trying to hit the internet forcing ZoneAlarm to show its Access Prompt
3) clicking yes
4) resizing and madly running through the maps with my guns blazing! oops, was FF off or on?! :D
If you see someone named ^S@URON please say "Hi" after you kill me!
Well....on the one hand, I really want to love it. It IS, after all, Wolfenstein. I still have Wolfenstien 3d, with all 6 episodes.
But on the other hand, it's just another FPS. Nothing overly innovative.
Granted, I run with a GF2MX400 at 1024x768x32 and I have nary a loss of frame rate. Smooth as buttah! So that impresses me. And I do like fraggin' Nazis! And the undead. Ain't nothin' better than cappin' a few undead.
Other than the demo, I have yet to play it online, so maybe I'll give that a go before rendering final judgement.
Of course, I have also been playing Metal Gear Solid 2, so that may have tainted my vision. I am Hideo Kojima's b1tch.
best place to get the best price?
thx,

I'm stuck at the damn rocket plane base. Those paratroopers that come down are impossible to kill!!!! What I really like: This game has aspects of most FPS games combined into one.
Figuring out small clues, fighting hand to hand, from close range, or long range. Fighting slowly with stealth on one round, and then running through the base at speed to beat a countdown in another level.
Great Game! Online is sick also! Finally some new maps!!!
